im a coloradan adn have personally backpacked everywhere from the indian peaks range near boulder, to the gilpin lake rout near steamboat. If you really like to backpack, try doing a backpack adn mountain combo, just as long as your not coming from anywhere near sea level should be fine. and even if you are just make sure you spen a night or two in a hotel or just your car to make sure if you do get altitude sickness then it dosnt hit you to big, and you can drive out if it gets really bad...&lt;br&gt;&lt;b&gt;References : &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;</description>
