No matter what you take you need good insulated water proof boots. If your feet get cold and wet, you are done. Extra Heavy socks to keep the toes warm.

Foot powder and comfy slippers are handy to have plus lots of socks or a gore tex waterproof socks to keep your socks dry and warm might be a good investment, ear plugs or mp3 player and ear buds to listen to music at night, i never could sleep with other people when i went camping with my school so back in the day i would bring my walkman with me and then i could tune the world out and get a good nights sleep, chap-stick or a moisturizing lip balm to keep your lips from getting chapped. You should always carry a small personal survival kit with you as well in case you get lost or wander off the path or trails to explore on your own.
