HOBO Stove from Missionpac.com

August 25th, 2010 | by admin |

Using the Hobo stove as an alternative camping stove. Unlimited fuel for extended travel, cutting down on the need to carry gas or stove fuel. This stove is very low cost, packs up small enough for your pack and the items that make up the stove are easily available from your camping and kitchen store. The cutlery drainer was $11.00 from Ikea, the billy is a Zebra brand and was $20.00 and the colander was $5.00 from Kmart.

Nice but have you heard about BioLite stove?! The portable stove producing its own electric power for a fan; it cuts wood consumption in half, reduces smoke emissions by 95% and nearly eliminates black carbon. Probably marketed starting 2011. For so many people relying on traditional cooking methods this device could be a dramatic improvement of daily life.

If you cut out a slot in the side (4 holes x 3 holes) you can feed the stove with more small pieces of wood to keep it going.
