Just got an internal 5000 CuIn due to the hype. Have a Super Tioga that I love but am passing down to my oldest son. Needed to learn some about the internals. I am guessing that I need to keep more than one. Thanks for the great info! enjoyed the reviews.

As an Eagle Scout. I agree Frame is sooo much more versatile. I think it’s a pain that all you see anymore is this design. I reckon it’s a good thought related to certain tasks. But, most of us aren’t scaling or bouldering with this type of rig. Besides if you’ve EVER used a duffel bag all the stuff you need inevitably is on the bottom.

you guys should check out the high sierra long trail 90 liter internal frame backpack. its running for about 100 bucks on ebay with free shipping. Ive just received mine and it is truly top notch quality… especially for the price. so if your on a budget and want an excellent internal frame check this backpack out.

You should defiantly make a video on how to pack a backpack.

I would have thought that the aluminium bars on the inside would make it ridged.

I saw something on the net about the internal frames needing a full pack to provide regidity. Not sure if this is true, however. I am open to opinions from someone knowledgeable on this topic,

I would also like to know the answer to this, i was going to get a 90 litre capacity (5492 Cubic Inches) but i dont know if i should get a 70 litre capacity (4271 Cubic Inches) i will only be getting one backpack so i want a good allround pack.

    Thanks for your videos.

One question I have, is whether there is any disadvantage, in using a pack that is larger than you need?

i have one with side pockets, you need to keep them empty if you want to put something on the sides

about the pockets, they are not there on purpose,so you can put big items on the sides(tent, skis),and you can attach additional pockets on the compression straps

I hate having anything tied to the outside of my pack for snagging on stuff, personally. Which is annoying cause I usually take a synthetic sleeping bag and a thermarest sleeping pad, both of which basically add no weight at all, but they are really bulky and take up about 70% of the room in my 65 litre pack.

nice pack. i definitely prefer the internal frames over the external. they seem to distribute weight more comfortably and are a bit more water resistant than externals
