Hey everyone, just wanted to share my new upgraded cook set and stove I plan on using in the field, camping/backpacking and hiking. I was using a standard Coleman propane canister stove and old boy scout/army surplus mess kit, which both were kinda bulky and weighed a great deal more than this new setup, didn’t find them too expensive and well worth the money since I do plan on using them several if not at least a few times a week, we’ll see how well they hold up and I’ll follow up if any problems or information I can pass on.

New alcohol can stove design burning

Here is one of the new designed alcohol 24 ounce stove that I modified and made larger. This was not my idea but my modification to improve on the design. Look at my other video to see how it is made. I just put about 2 ounces or a quarter of a cup of 91% rubbing alcohol in it. As I’m writing this it has been burning for close to 18 minutes and still going. It may be even more efficient than the smaller ones. I’m letting it burn with nothing on it so the center is still at a rapid flame. We are coming up on 25 minutes now. I went and filled out all the other info on here and it is still burning past 25 minutes so this might be what you need on your next camping trip in the back woods where you are not allowed to build a campfire. Ok at 29 minutes it has reduced to a center flame on just 2 ounces of fuel. Try it and let me know what you think.

Picked up this Coleman MAX hard anodized aluminum cookset for $24 at Walmart. It replaces an older GSI double boiler. The kit includes 32oz pot, 20oz pot, 16oz frying pan/lid and 12oz frying pan/lid. The larger set fits All major brands of iso butane fuel canisters, MSR, Snowpeak, Jetboil, etc. The bottom is a perfect fit for a Snowpeak Giga Power windscreen. I plan on using the large set for most backpacking trips. The smaller set will go in my BOB with some trioxane bars and possibly an alcohol stove. For $24 this is a great deal. 2 cook sets for the price of one.
