Where can I demo one in Colorado? I am interested in these but can’t see spending over $200 on something that I am not satisfied with. Just not sure if sleeping in the hammock if my style but I would like to try. Anywhere I can demo one?

If you’re in the swamp and can’t find dry land you can even set up above the water from a boat. Great device to keep in a bugout bag or store in a car for those crashes on the Interstate just tie up between cars. I have a hammock that I have strung up under a bus just to try it. I have strung them under my tanker truck, When we had a hurricane we bugged out and my family could not get a room we strung a hammock inside the truck for the kid wife and I were in the bunk the kid had the best sleep.

Unlike a tent you can sleep on a slope. Doesn’t matter what the ground is like, you still get a great level sleep. Just one thing I could never just slide my snakeskins like that. How did you do it? I have to really roll my fly/hammock up to get mine done.

    You got that right!

Thanks dude! I try to be right sometimes…hehe! I love the fact that they’re so comfortable compared to sleeping on the hard cold ground. Can’t beat it! ;o)

It may be a bear taco but it can’t be any worse than a bear pancake…either way you can’t win. You always take your chances. Hammocks are way better in the winter also, when grizz is snoozing…haha ;o)

    Gator Muffins! That’s good stuff.

They would be more impressed with ground tents being called gator muffins?

Yea, down here in Florida we call them gator tacos! I told that to a couple of the hammock manufacturers at the Outdoor Retailer show, they weren’t amused….

I’ve heard this thing described as a “bear taco”, lol.

Smokey says, ‘Yo Quiero Taco Bell’

Sleep in it, it’s like an ultralight sleeping bag, and even has a small foot vent. It crinkles around a little, but not too bad. I need to set up the hammock and shoot another vid!

You sleep on that or do you rig it outside the hammock?

Heck yea! I’ve got an Expedition and a Backpacker Asym. Love ‘em both.

In the summer I use one of the Adventure Medical Kits Thermo-Lite Emergency Bivvys. Works great to add a little heat retention and keeps the bugs from biting through.

Got mine today from Great Escapes Outdoor Sports online. They just got a shipment of Expeditions in this week. Paid 98.10 plus ~8 shipping for a total of 106 and some change. The tent retails for 139. What a screaming deal for a screaming hammock!.

An awesome tent worthy of my money. I’m now the proud owner of a Hennessy Expedition Hammock. Just came in today UPS.

Simple provisions must be made to prevent a cold back (underside of sleeping bag compresses, use a thin matress pad or under hammock insulation), and you must wear clothing to prevent mosquitos from stinging you through the hammock (they can’t penetrate two layers of fabric).

Ggreenvideos is right – they are awesome! I use the HH on most of my hikes here in Florida. Great for keeping cool and keeping the ’skeeters away!

The stuff sack should be a little bigger for the hammock, as it is a little tough geting it in with the supershelter. Although it can be done. The sack for the under pad is without a doubt…too small ! Other than that these hammocks are AWESOME :o )
