Looking Into Camping Hammocks?

When going out on a camping trip or a backpacking trip there are two main options to think about when it comes to staying the night out in the wilderness. Will you be in a tent or in the air between two trees? The type of camping or backpacking you will be doing will determine this and the advantages of a camping hammock or tent.

Going for a long hike for a couple days wherever it may be it is always a good idea to try to keep your load light enough so it doesn’t cripple you after a couple of days. But if you’re in the desert area then it can be hard to find trees to hang your hammock from, right? So in this case you will want the lightest and easiest tent setup.

As far as going into the forest areas for a trip, a camping hammock is ideal for saving space, there is no looking for a flat spot, and setup time can be easier. This is if you are going with a small group of people and don’t mind sleeping by yourself, if you have a loved one you might be more compelled to bring along a tent.

Taking all of that into consideration the camping hammock is always a good way to go when going on trips with friends back into the forest because lets face it there are always trees and it can be hard to find a good flat area to setup a tent. Then there is always clearing the rocks and branches out of the way so you don’t roll over on one in the night nothing ruins a good sleep like getting poked in the back. I use a camping hammock when I go for hikes and it makes life easier. It can also double as a lounge chair as well so this can make a camping hammock more versatile than a tent.
