Your Guide To Summer Relaxation
July 30th, 2010 | by admin |Where do you go to relax and take a break from your busy life?
For most, the answer is vacation. However with the current state of the economy a vacation just doesn’t fit in their budget. Most people will choose to stay at home this summer due to money being tight and are a little uneasy about job security. Adding a sunroom is not an option for many as it can become very expensive.
So you’re probably thinking it’s going to be impossible to kick back and relax this summer. But what if you could have a mini-vacation in your own back yard? Adding a line of ornamental trees will great increase the privacy in your back yard. Even though you won’t achieve the full effect this summer, each new spring the trees will add more and more privacy. The trees will also add a substantial amount of shade to your yard as well as your home. The trees will also help reduce electricity bills by keeping your home cooler in the summer without having to keep the air conditioning running all the time.
Next is to get well made hammock. Hammocks have been in use for centuries as a way to relax. You’ll regret settling for a cheaply made hammock as it may not even last you through the summer and it probably won’t be as comfortable either. A well made hammock will feel like you have been lifted out of your busy life and give you a sense of being supported while being up off the ground. New developments in technology have resulted in hammocks getting better and better in quality of construction as well as comfort. If you don’t have trees to hang your hammock on, you will want a hammock stand that was designed to resist harsh weather so choose a hammock constructed of power-coated steel or durable wood like cypress.
Find a shady spot, roughly 16-by-5 feet, of level ground for your hammock, you don’t want to fall sleep in direct sunlight and wake up sun burned. Add some small foliage and flowers near your hammock. You can even add some paving stones leading to the hammock for a pleasant accent.
Your kids will also love the hammock, although younger children should never be left unsupervised in a hammock.
A well made hammock will provide just as much enjoyment and relaxation as a vacation without ever having to leave your backyard
